2019 Conference Details

We offer a “First Timers” track for those new to short-term missions and a “Go Beyond” track for missions veterans. Registration includes a variety of break-out topics to choose from: cultural sensitivity and understanding, fundraising and storytelling, being prepared for anything on the mission field, holistic orphan care, attachment, caring for long-term missionaries, long-term impact from short-term teams, and more. You’ll hear from amazing guest speakers including Bob Goff, Dave Buehring, John Rinehimer, Mark Stuart and many more. Also included in your registration: an entry into our 9th annual Mission Trip Giveaway drawing, free parking at the venue, all conference materials (team leader training binder for each attendee, program book, other handouts), light breakfast on Friday and Saturday including a delicious donut bar one of the mornings from Marietta favorite Doughnut Dollies, catered lunch on Friday, as well as snacks and beverages.

The Go Be Love Conference 2019 will feature exhibitor booths and designated exhibitor times where attendees can learn about other organizations and shop for merchandise that helps support the ministries represented. On Thursday, Bob Goff will draw the winner of our Mission Trip Giveaway live from the conference. Everyone who registers for the conference is entered to win. On Friday, we’ll offer limited spots for a unique “field trip” breakout session hosted by our title sponsor, Glory Haus, Inc. Participants will gather for a casual meal at the Glory Haus headquarters, tour their “Repurposed on Purpose” workroom, have an opportunity to design their own “repurposed” creation, hear about Glory Haus’s work to empower women with fair trade products, and participate in a private shopping experience. KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Bob Goff, Author of “Love Does” and “Everybody, Always”

Bob Goff is the New York Times Best-Selling Author of “Love Does” and Author of “Everybody, Always” which was released in 2018. Bob is an attorney who founded Love Does, a nonprofit human rights organization operating in Uganda, India, Nepal, Iraq and Somalia.

Choosing to live audaciously, Bob connects to audiences in a powerfully inspirational, yet down to earth manner. He lives an outside the box lifestyle traveling to distant and sometimes dangerous countries with his organization Love Does, in efforts to help some of the worlds most vulnerable and forgotten people. Bob shares stories from his experiences as a lawyer, husband, father, justice seeker and friend as relatable and hilarious life lessons. Bob’s messages of Love Does and Love Everybody Always draw attendees in to examine their own dreams and unique abilities, and as a result motivates action and hope amongst those engaged.

Dave Buehring, Founder & President of Lionshare

David Buehring has been a devoted follower of Jesus for more than 40 years. He’s passionate about stirring the Church to follow Jesus, teaching God’s people His ways, and raising a new generation of disciple-makers. Following many years as a missions leader and local church pastor, Dave has spent the last decade speaking broadly throughout the country and various parts of the world, while also guiding and advising spiritual and societal leaders in the ways of God. He’s the author of several books including The Jesus Blueprint and A Discipleship Journey. Dave serves as the Founder & President of Lionshare, a nonprofit organization that ignites and resources churches and leaders in making disciple-makers. Dave also has a 365 Daily Video Devotional that offers reflections on the nature, character & attributes of God for 2 minutes each day.

John Rinehimer, VP of Mobilization & Communications at World Gospel Mission

John Rinehimer is a New Jersey native whose family was very active in the church. John attended Asbury University and Asbury Theological Seminary in KY. In 2005, John married his wife, Erica, and finished his Masters in Christian Studies at Wesley Biblical Seminary in Jackson, MS. A year later, he and his wife moved to Northern Uganda to be missionaries for two years training indigenous church planters on the Sudanese border. Since returning to the US, John has served on staff as a disciple-making pastor at Southeast Christian Church, in Louisville, KY and as campus pastor with Community Christian Church in Chicago. In 2017, John was invited by World Gospel Mission to join their executive team. He now serves as their Vice President of Mobilization and Communications. John & Erica have three children, Jackson (9) and Caleb (7) and Ava (5) and live in Indianapolis, IN.

Mark Stuart, Founding Member of Hands & Feet Project, Founder of Audio Adrenaline

Mark, a founding member of the Hands and Feet project, has been passionately connected to Haiti for over 25 years. Mark visited Haiti for the first time during high school with his father Drex and fell deeply in love with the nation and its people. In 1991, Mark founded Audio Adrenaline with band mates Bob Herdman and Will McGinniss and went on to win two Grammys over a 17 year career as the lead singer. Mark currently resides with his wife Aegis and two children, Journey and Christela, in Franklin TN.

Joelle McNamara, Founder and CEO of BADALA

Joelle McNamara is the Founder and CEO of BADALA, a non-profit organization providing sustainable employment opportunities to women and artisans in East Africa, India, Central America, and the United States. With partnerships with companies like Target and TOMS, BADALA has given the gift of employment (either short-term or ongoing) to over 1000 people in oppressed communities across the world.

Through BADALA, Joelle has given these precious sons and daughters a space to heal from past trauma (commercial sexual exploitation/trafficking, sexual assault and abuse, orphanhood, physical abuse, abandonment, FGM), explore the gifts that God has given them, and have life to the full in Christ.

Kara & Ryan Higgins, Founders and Co-Directors of Imana Kids, Go Be Love team leaders

Ryan and Kara Higgins have been leading Go Be Love teams since 2013 and are the founders and co-directors of Imana Kids: Orphan Care Ministry, a sponsorship program in Rwanda. Imana Kids was founded after their very first Go Be Love trip and has since grown to provide education and trauma informed care to over 175 children and young adults in Rwanda. They are currently developing Hope Village, a foster care community, school and church with a focus on healing and trauma care. Ryan and Kara are parents to 5 (two the old fashioned way, 1 through foster care and two adopted). Ryan teaches high school engineering and Kara is a nurse practitioner and midwife in her spare time.

Gabriel Brown, Assistant Vice President of Sales & Special Markets at Brotherhood Mutual

Gabriel Brown is the Assistant Vice President of Sales & Special Markets at Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company. He oversees the Mission Travel division for Brotherhood Mutual that equips mission teams with resources needed for their trip, including medical and security insurance, flight planning, and trip management. Gabriel has led many mission trips to Central America and East Africa. He is actively involved in orphan care and adoption advocacy. He lives in Ft. Wayne, Indiana with his wife, Shelley, and their five children.

Sandy Spengler, Regional Director at Lifesong for Orphans

Disciple of Christ who’s a mess! So thankful He continues to call me to Himself! I Love my family, my puppies and laughing my head off. I am an adoptive mom with some Missionary Sending, Missionary Training, STM Team Training/Leading, International Missionary, Global Orphan Care, and Donor/Partnership Development experience. With so very much more to learn.

Mike Snyder, Founder and President of MKI Group Travel

Mike Snyder is the founder and president of MKI Group Travel. After serving nearly 20 years in missions with Campus Crusade for Christ (U.S.A. and Lithuania), and as the national director of short-term missions for the Baptist General Conference, Mike launched MKI Group Travel, and continues to serve churches and organizations sending missionaries worldwide. MKI Group Travel specializes in missions, student, and adoption travel and is based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Mikes’ passion in ministry is ‘connecting people to opportunities, and opportunities to people’. He loves to network, think creatively, and also consults organizations on how to effectively utilize short-term missions for long-term impact! He is married to Valerie (a chaplain), and has one son Liu, who they adopted from China a very short 11 years ago. *MKI stands for ‘Maximum Kingdom Impact’.

Kate Borders, Senior Mobilization Director at World Orphans

Kate has been with World Orphans for 10 years and is passionate about the mission of World Orphans to equip, inspire, and mobilize the church to care for orphans and vulnerable children. She is honored to be a part of a ministry working to see churches engaged, children restored, and communities transformed by the Gospel of Christ. Her Mobilization crew empowers teams to engage with international church partners to learn from, encourage and equip the church to best care for orphaned and vulnerable children. Kate lives outside of Knoxville, TN with her husband and two daughters.
