Our New Beginning

The story behind the name change.

Our New Beginning

In 2011, Visiting Orphans first used the words Go. Be. Love. as the headline on this photo. From there, it became our tagline. We began using it on most of our t-shirts and merchandise items and strategically began using it on our team shirts over the past several years mainly out of sensitivity to the kids we were serving. We didn’t want them to read the shirts that said “Visiting Orphans” and be labeled as an “orphan” when we were coming to tell them that they have a Father who loves them in Jesus.

Over the past 5 years, we’ve begun to partner more and more with ministries that help keep families together and support communities. Our ministry has expanded from orphan care to include orphan prevention and missionary care. Some of our missionary care initiatives including summer furlough support, Project GPS and Be Loved Retreats. The types of ministries vary but the mission is the same: to GO to the nations, BE focused on relationship and LOVE like Jesus. This is who we are.

We partner with missionaries and ministries in the US and abroad to come alongside them as they care for orphans, vulnerable children, families, communities, widows and more generally anyone that God puts in our path. The shift from Visiting Orphans to Go Be Love has been a gradual one and a natural progression as we’ve changed and evolved as a ministry. On November 1, 2016 we officially made the switch to the new name. While we are still registered as Visiting Orphans Inc. legally, our DBA name of Go Be Love International is the name we now use to do ministry. We believe this name more fully encompasses all we do and what we are about. We are thrilled to share this change with you and hope that you see this change as a positive and exciting one.
