This is our second missions team to Alaska. We will partner with Last Frontier Ministries to serve the small rural village of Minto, Alaska.

Minto is a beautiful village with Native American families who have lived there for many Generations! The tribal traditions run deep in Minto and the people of Minto are warm, caring and inviting once the respect has been earned. This trip is a mix of service projects, such as painting and stacking wood, and spending time getting to know the community and encouraging them spiritually through door to door ministry, and VBS for the children. The town is in great need of spiritual encouragement. Will you prayerfully consider joining this team to help share the love of Jesus with the community of Minto, AK?

Team Member Commitment
I understand that the mission trip starts the day I apply for the trip and agree that, as a part of a Go Be Love mission team, I am committing to being available for conference calls leading up to the trip and reading all emails and materials pertaining to the trip, and responding when necessary. I understand that these communications are needed to maximize the effectiveness of my team on the mission field, to prepare each person for the trip and to build team unity. For some teams, this may include 4 to 8 conference calls leading up to the trip. I understand that a large part of these conference calls will focus on a spiritual preparation and will include doing a pre-trip discipleship study together.

Paying for Your Trip
Go Be Love encourages our team members to raise support. Once you are signed up for a trip, you can fundraise with all items on the team member fundraising section of our online store, you can send out support letters or come up with your own creative ideas. We use a team member database called Managed Missions that allows you to create your own custom fundraising page. Unlike other online fundraising pages, those donations will go directly into your trip account and will also be tax deductible for your donors. This feature is called Public Profile and we encourage all team members to create one and send the link to your donors who would like to give online. You and your donors can also make tax deductible payments toward your trip total by mailing checks to Go Be Love.

About Your Leader

Lori Kolwyck

Alaska, Uganda and Costa Rica Team Leader

If someone would have told me I would be leading mission trips to Uganda, I would have never believed them. As a widow, I was looking for my “new normal.” Part of my “new normal” was the calling for short term missions. After my first trip, I knew it was the experience I needed to choose joy in my life. At first I thought I would bless others and found out quickly I received so many blessings! I have been to Uganda numerous times and each time I learn something new. I learn to love deeper and grow wider as Christian. Joy is such a gift! It’s not dependent upon circumstances, like happiness is. Missions are such a gift! They bring joy. I no longer question why me but what me. In November 2014, I led a group to Costa Rica and in the summer of 2017, I led a team to Alaska. I look forward to leading to Alaska again in 2018. Outside of my comfort zone of Uganda. I no longer look for that burning bush but a sense of contentment and peace. It’s easy to love those we have never known. I have been so grateful for the opportunity for mission work. As for me, I will continue to seek and rejoice in the Lord. No one can steal my joy!

I’m ready to Go. Be. Love.
