Join us to Go Be Love in the Bahamas! The team will travel to Grand Bahama Island and will spend the week serving with Karazim Ministries. Many people think of paradise when they think of the Bahamas but Karazim’s desire is to show mission teams that there are two faces of that paradise. Just beyond the beautiful Bahamian beaches and tourist destinations lie many small villages in great need. This makes Grand Bahama a unique place to serve God. The island is home to many who are less fortunate, who fall through the cracks of society. Their goals comprise solutions to the problem, not just treating the symptoms and covering the true nature of social and spiritual ills. The ministries that you will partner with include opportunities that contribute to changing the very heart and face of the Bahamian nation.

This trip will provide many opportunities to share the gospel, to work with children doing VBS and playing sports, as well as serving people and communities in desperate need.

We, along with Karazim, invite you to share your gifts and talents on this trip. Bring any vocation with confidence that you can help meet a need on the island. Come join us and experience the mighty work that God is doing in Grand Bahama.

Team Member Commitment
I understand that the mission trip starts the day I apply for the trip and agree that, as a part of a Go Be Love mission team, I am committing to being available for conference calls leading up to the trip and reading all emails and materials pertaining to the trip, and responding when necessary. I understand that these communications are needed to maximize the effectiveness of my team on the mission field, to prepare each person for the trip and to build team unity. For some teams, this may include 4 to 8 conference calls leading up to the trip. I understand that a large part of these conference calls will focus on a spiritual preparation and will include doing a pre-trip discipleship study together.

Go Be Love advises all travelers to read the US Department of State background notes on their website. Travelers can also check the latest health information with the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention at to get the most recent health advisories, immunization recommendations/requirements, and advice on food and drinking water safety for regions and countries. We also suggest that all participants consult their physician before traveling abroad.

Paying for Your Trip
Go Be Love encourages our team members to raise support. Once you are signed up for a trip, you can fundraise with all items on the team member fundraising section of our online store, you can send out support letters or come up with your own creative ideas. We use a team member database called Managed Missions that allows you to create your own custom fundraising page. Unlike other online fundraising pages, those donations will go directly into your trip account and will also be tax deductible for your donors. This feature is called Public Profile and we encourage all team members to create one and send the link to your donors who would like to give online. You and your donors can also make tax deductible payments toward your trip total by mailing checks to Go Be Love.

About Your Leader

Cynthia Hensley

Bahamas Team Leader

My name is Cynthia Hensley and I live in Elkin, NC with my husband, Roger. He serves as the pastor of First Baptist Church in Jonesville, NC.  I recently retired to stay home with my granddaughter, Elizabeth. I have two children, Daniel (wife Krissy) and Christina.

My passion for working with children started many years ago while serving as a GA camp counselor.   During that summer, I learned about missionaries around the world and felt a strong calling to work with children.  Different missionaries attended camp every week to teach us about God’s love (his hands and feet) across the world.

It is this passion that led me to the Go Be Love organization in 2013. I’ve grown in Christ through every experience, learning hands on experience of how to serve more effectively.

I truly believe in the importance of serving as Christ’s hands and feet to children in every opportunity.   I count it a blessing to have served as a Go Be Love team member in Ethiopia, Costa Rica, Haiti and China. During those trips, my passion for children continued to grow stronger.

I look forward to this opportunity to be a Servant Leader to the team traveling to the Bahamas in 2019.
